The project resulted winner of the integrated (construction and design) public tender for the adaptation works of the global intervention of the “Idrovia Ferrarese”, committed by the District of Ferrara, that is the creation of a class V navigable waterway from Adriatic Sea to the city of Ferrara by widening the Po di Volano river, with the construction of two bridges.

The most charming one is the so called “Final di Rero bridge", formed by to two subsequent arches (50+80 m) to which the viable r.c. deck is suspended. The lateral beams of the deck self-compensate the thrust of the arches.

The near “Ca’Dondi bridge” was intentionally kept with a lower level in order to avoid a contrast between the two bridges and to minimize the overall landscape impact.

The two operas have been harmonized by choosing a refined but efficient design for all the piles and piers of both of them. Every detail of the intervention has been optimized in order to join an optimized structural performance with a pleasant aspect.
